All in all it has been a very successful Ruby Anniversary year, participation at all of the events organized by the Club has been excellent and by all accounts everyone has had an enjoyable year.
We hope that this will continue over the next 40 years and beyond. We start 2009 with our Championship show and on from there.
The Club was established in 1968 by a small but determined group of enthusiastic Golden Retriever lovers. Their relentless hard work and determination resulted in what we now know and love as the official Golden Retriever Club of Wales. The current membership has risen to over 400 and this number continues to grow.
A prestigious Club has been formed from what started as only a few people with the common ground of love for a most elegant and affectionate dog. It offers not only a place for members to meet and discuss their dogs but it also helps and assists in raising the profile and awareness of Golden Retrievers.
The Club has much to offer, with the experience of the established members assisting the new. A weekly Training Class caters for both novice to advanced handlers in Obedience (up to Competition level), Ringcraft and also puppy socialising. See Activities for details.
